Fear as a Daily Reminder for Creating Possibility in my Life

Everyday I experience the emotion of fear.  Fear that I will not make it, that something will go wrong in my life, that things will not turn out good or the way I want.  Mostly I experience fear that I will not realize my dream, that I will fail.  This fear happens sometimes in the morning, during the day and even in the evening when I am apparently safe at home.  It comes up when I am engaged in my work, when I am attempting to create my dream.  It even shows up when I least expect it.  The intensity also varies, sometimes more and sometimes less.  In the past the fear has stopped me and has a tendency to do so now.  The mistake that I have and sometimes still make is to respond to the fear and not look under neither it, for what is generating it.

When I stop and do not respond or react to the fear, I can take a look at what is causing the fear.  I know that fear is merely an emotion, the way my body is experiencing a thought or belief.  This insight is invaluable in my transformation and with the creating of possibility out of the experience of fear.  When I experience the emotion of fear I will pause for a moment and become present to that which is causing it.  It is the belief that I am not enough and that no matter what that things do not turn out good, that I will not succeed.  The space for change is to be present to this insight and then create possibility, to create another thought or belief that will replace the negative one.  It is relaxing and taking the opportunity to generate a new thought that eventually takes me out of the fear that is part of my current work.

Commitment to the Dream and Self Doubt

Staying committed to your dream is absolutely necessary for you to achieve your dream, regardless of what it is.  My dream is to create music that will transform the world.  To do this requires that I stay committed to this dream, to live it daily, to stay in it even when I do not want to.  Staying committed mean that I have to enroll myself in the dream every morning that I wake up, during the day and when I go to sleep at night.  This requires dedication and discipline to my dream, to the work necessary to fulfill on the dream.

What I am also faced with each day is self doubt, the belief that I can not do it, that it will not work out.  I am faced with this thought or belief daily as well.  I believe at times that the dream will not happen, that nothing turns out the way that I want, that nothing good will come about as a result of my hard work.  The feeling at times seems as though it will stop me, stop me from doing the work necessary to create my dream.  Each day I am confronted with this struggle, the struggle between believing in myself and that of self doubt, that I will not succeed,

Facing Fear and Moving Through It to Transform our Life

Fear is an emotion that can cripple us, can stop us cold from creating the life that we want.  For some the tendency is to make the emotion of fear go away.  For some their way of making the emotion of fear disappear is to medicate it, use drugs and alcohol to numb the emotion.  For some this manner of dealing with the emotion of fear is perceived of as the solution.  While not a true and lasting solution, soon the habit of using drugs and alcohol sets in and the addiction is created.

I have found that facing the fear is the only true and lasting solution.  Having some insight into this process can be very valuable. First, fear is an emotion.  Second, as with all emotions, they are generated or created by our thinking.  The emotion of fear, like all emotions, does not exist without thoughts or thinking being there to bring them into existence.  Change the thinking or thought process and emotions necessarily change.  There is no changing emotions without changing your thoughts.

Our thoughts and thinking process has a core.  There is a core belief that tends to generate our thinking process or pattern.  This core belief is always about us.  It is a fundamental belief that we have about ourselves, about our value and worth as a human being.  Most every other thought that we have or experience is created from the context of this basic, core belief about who we think we are.  The origin of this belief is something that we created.  We are in every sense of the word responsible for its creation.

Taking responsibility for the creation of this core, fundamental belief is absolutely necessary for ones transformation.  Unless we do assume this responsibility for what we think and belief about ourselves we will stay trapped in an endless loop of irrational thinking and negative life experiences.  We will stay trapped in always blaming someone or something for our situation and as such never able to move past the negative experiences that we are having.  We will be a prisoner of our belief about who we think we are and never able to experience freedom.

Our transformation will only be gotten by becoming fully present to who we think we are and from this insight alter the fundamental, core belief that is not only false but that has been running our life.  More on this soon.

Creating Infinite Possibility for your Life.

Creating Infinite possibility for your life sounds impossible.  Sometimes we tend to believe that life has limits, that we have limits to what we can do and create for ourselves.  It is, however, a mind set, an attitude, a way of thinking that is necessary to begin creating infinite possibility.  We do tend to play out what we think is possible.  If we believe that there are limits and not infinite possibility then we will make that happen, make it so.

Staying in infinite possibility is not only part of the work of transformation but something that initially takes work, conscious work to stay in that space of creating.  Not that I stay in this space all the time, letting at times my self limiting belief run the show, I am very aware now, of the power and importance of my work.  It is literally what I say is so that I starts to create something new for me.

Each day upon arising I have started to become present to my infinite possibility, to the fact that I will be the one who brings infinite possibility into existence.  It is with my saying that that is what is real that I begin to create that it is real and that it will show up in my life.  It is my mind set that will begin to create infinite possibility for my life and it is something that I have to practice everyday, especially in the beginning, to bring it into existence.

The Struggle of Creating Possibility in My Life

Creating Possibility in my life will appear as a struggle.  Riding the roller coaster ride of life is filled with ups and downs.  Sometimes I feel as though I am making progress and things are going well.  At other times, even in the same day, it appears as though life is taking a dip, that things will not work out and that I will fail.  The ride is difficult to manager at times.  It is work manage this part of my life.

I know, from doing this work, that what is driving the process is the new me that is attempting to emerge and also the self limiting belief that I am not enough, that something is wrong with me.  Here is the heart of the struggle.  It is a thought, a belief about who I really think I am that is  causing the ride.  At one moment I am being my new self and at others I am being my self limiting belief.  It is not the emotion but rather the thinking behind the feelings that I have.

There is nothing to do except take the ride.  There is nothing to do except be aware of and stay present to the struggle and to the best of my ability keep standing in my new self and continue to create possibility for myself and my life.  I acknowledge my self limiting belief but continue to say to myself and be my new self, my new identity.  This struggle and ride will continue.  Part of my work is to accept it for what it is and not fight or get into a struggle with it, to merely accept that which is.

Staying Present to your Self Limiting Belief will assist you in your Transformation

While we take on creating possibility in our life, of being different in life, we must stay present and aware of our tendency to go back to how we were in the past.  The self limiting belief is that which will take us away from the possibilities that we want and are attempting to create for ourselves and our life.  The self limiting belief keeps us in the past and in our former way of being.  The self limiting belief does not go away or disappear.

The self limit belief merely gets replaced by the new self or possibility that we are about creating.  The new self or possibility that we are creating is fragile and in need of support from us.  The self limiting belief has been around awhile, for many years in most cases.  Initially, the self limiting belief is firmly embedded in our life, in many of the experiences that we have, through the associations and triggers from our experiences.  When we start to take on living life differently we have to stay aware of the power and tendency of the self limiting belief to move back into directing our life.

What is necessary is for us to continue to create the possibility everyday.  The possibility could appear as an affirmation, as new language about who we want to be.  When we focus on our new possibility,  on our new positive affirmations, we are recreating ourselves.  The work has to be daily and constant.  Given our nature, how we are wired as human beings, we could slip back into the past and our self limiting belief if we are aware of its existence if have the power to dictate our life again.

Taking on Transforming My Life and My Self Limiting Belief

Recently I have taken on changing my vocation.  In the recent past I have always practiced counseling.  While I still believe that such a profession is a good one and in the past one that has given me a lot of satisfaction, I have decided to change, to move in another direction. Being both a counselor or musician, I have decided to take on creating and marketing my music to the world and on a full time basis.  Such a venture has always excited me, at least having the possibility of it, but in the past I have had the belief that I could not make a living by such a venture.  It has been my beliefs about myself and my ability that have held me back from finding out about my ability to make a living at my music.  I now have this awareness in how I was stopped by myself and more important how it continues to try to stop me.

Within the past three months I have made the decision to move forward with my dream, to create the possibility of creating, marketing and selling my music to the world and have this be my source of income for myself.  What I did was take on working in the counseling field part time and have this be a source of income to help me through the transition.  What was once my part time job, so to speak, is now my more than full time job, music.  As I have been doing the work of the new venture I am experiencing many challenges, facing and learning new things that I have never known about.  The learning curve is very steep, requiring me to face things that I do not know and learn them as I move forward.

As I take on this new venture I am very present to the self talk that I have running in my head, the voice that I hear at times, the voice telling  me that I can not do this, that it will not work, that I will fail.  Part of my work now, and I know it now, is to listen to this voice, acknowledge it, and then continue to move forward. Even given the negative nature of my self talk I am continuing to create the possibility of what I want to have happen.  My self limiting belief about myself will continue to be there as it has been in the past and by recognizing my feeling state know when it is trying to take control of my way of being and merely create the possibility of who I want to now be.  I can not change the self limiting belief that I have but merely create a new possibility for myself as apart of my transformation.

Changing Your Life is about the Awareness of Your Self Limiting Belief

Given the fact that much of our life is lived from beliefs that we created in the past, that we are now no longer aware of, becoming present to that which is hidden from us, is absolutely necessary for a person’s personal transformation.  It is in that which is primarily out of our awareness that one will discover what has been directing or determining his life, referred to here as ones self-limiting belief.  The first component of the change process is for a person to become present to his hidden thoughts and beliefs that have been limiting him in life and in particular to his self-limiting belief.  It is in the being of his self-limiting belief that he will discover the primary constraint or barrier to his life.  Simply stated, we live life from who we think we are.  Who we think we are forms the context for our life.  Having the awareness or distinction of the self-limiting belief allows him the ability to not be that belief, to not have his life be merely the story created from the past.  Without the distinction of the self-limiting belief one will continue to create his life from the backdrop of this ideational barrier and as a result life will appear much as it did in the past.
Becoming aware of that which has been hidden, to that which has been truly determining his manner of living, allows one the opportunity to change or transform his life.  Once one gets who he has been being most of his life, the second component of change process is for the individual to begin to create his life as a possibility.  Once the distinction of the self-limiting belief is gotten, the individual is now able to truly create a new possibility for himself and his life.  Getting the self-limiting belief creates the space for a possibility or even possibilities to be invented not as a result or product of the barrier or constraint but from something new.  It is only from this something new that a new possibility can truly be created.  As with the self-limiting belief, true possibility exists in language.  Once one gets the language that he has been being, that has defined and limited him through being his self-limiting belief, it is at this point that he can begin to recreate himself through the power of his word.  Who we are is our word.  In is in ones language or word that one has access to true change.  It is here that the power of using positive affirmation can truly make a difference in changing a person’s life.

It is our Inner World that determines our experiences of our Outer World

Our society is slowly coming to realize that it is our thinking, our inner world, that determines our experiences of our outer world.  Such an awareness is becoming more and more of an accepted fact, a truth.  This truth will slowly start to change the very fabric of our society and of how we live our life.  The predominant belief is that other people, places and things are the determining factors in our lives and that we need to manage them if not control them to exist or survive in life.  Life here appears as a struggle.

What is happening throughout our world is that a new belief is starting to emerge as the truth.  This belief will take some time to be the determining paradigm of our society.  However, the more that we hold this belief as the truth and even practice it in all of our daily affairs the more this belief will start to spread throughout our world.  Even though this belief is and will eventually replace the notion that the external world is that which determines our very existence, for our world to create the new paradigm will require a great deal of focus and determination on our part.  Our tendency will be to slip back into how we have always done business in the world.  However, the practice of recognizing the power of our thinking will eventually transform the world.

Getting Connected is What it is All About.

Much of my life has been about not being connected to something higher or bigger than myself.  Being alone, not feeling apart of something bigger than myself, being on my own, so to speak, is how life has been for me, and most other people as well I would suspect.  While we believe that we are independent beings moving through life we are really connected to a source that is bigger than we are.  Even though we are connected we live life as if we were not, attempting to control life and its events as if we have to do it  ourselves.  Such a belief is the source of our sense of truly being powerless.

While this perspective is how things were for me growing up, it is not how it is for me now.  A transformation is taking place for me, within me.  Much of my work now as a human being is about getting reconnected to something bigger than I am.  The attempt to reconnect is in my mind, not in my being.  We have always been connected except we do know believe it, I did not believe and to some degree still do not.  We act as if we are separate from what ever we call this higher power, call it God, Spirit or Source.   My work now is to get reconnected to my Source, to Spirit, or even God, and to regain my true Power.
