Changing Your Life is about the Awareness of Your Self Limiting Belief

Given the fact that much of our life is lived from beliefs that we created in the past, that we are now no longer aware of, becoming present to that which is hidden from us, is absolutely necessary for a person’s personal transformation.  It is in that which is primarily out of our awareness that one will discover what has been directing or determining his life, referred to here as ones self-limiting belief.  The first component of the change process is for a person to become present to his hidden thoughts and beliefs that have been limiting him in life and in particular to his self-limiting belief.  It is in the being of his self-limiting belief that he will discover the primary constraint or barrier to his life.  Simply stated, we live life from who we think we are.  Who we think we are forms the context for our life.  Having the awareness or distinction of the self-limiting belief allows him the ability to not be that belief, to not have his life be merely the story created from the past.  Without the distinction of the self-limiting belief one will continue to create his life from the backdrop of this ideational barrier and as a result life will appear much as it did in the past.
Becoming aware of that which has been hidden, to that which has been truly determining his manner of living, allows one the opportunity to change or transform his life.  Once one gets who he has been being most of his life, the second component of change process is for the individual to begin to create his life as a possibility.  Once the distinction of the self-limiting belief is gotten, the individual is now able to truly create a new possibility for himself and his life.  Getting the self-limiting belief creates the space for a possibility or even possibilities to be invented not as a result or product of the barrier or constraint but from something new.  It is only from this something new that a new possibility can truly be created.  As with the self-limiting belief, true possibility exists in language.  Once one gets the language that he has been being, that has defined and limited him through being his self-limiting belief, it is at this point that he can begin to recreate himself through the power of his word.  Who we are is our word.  In is in ones language or word that one has access to true change.  It is here that the power of using positive affirmation can truly make a difference in changing a person’s life.

The most effective way to use Positive Affirmations!

The most effective way to use positive affirmations is with the individual’s own voice. While a person can have a beneficial result from listening to a commercially developed product that employs positive affirmations recorded by another, the transformative power of this technology is enhanced or strengthened by the positive messages being delivered in the person’s own voice.  By using a person’s own voice to transform the inner dialogue, there is less resistance to the transformational process due to the fact that the voice itself is the same or identical.  It is as though the negative voice or language pattern that one hears repeatedly in life is altered or transformed by the consistent exposure and listening to that same voice but with the structure of positive enhancing affirmations.  Eventually the structure will transform from one that is negative to one that is positive in nature.

Positive Affirmations can Transform your Self Esteem!

One very effective way to improve self-esteem is through the use of positive affirmations.  Positive affirmations are very powerful for transforming how a person feels and thinks about himself, ultimately influencing how he views and acts within the world and towards others.  The fundamental reason why positive affirmations are so effective is that their nature or structure reflects what already exists in our mind.  Our identity or who we think we are, our current thinking patterns, is primarily a series of affirmations composed fundamentally of mere words or language.  Everything we think, all of the thoughts that we have, are merely affirmations.  Positive affirmations, when used consistently, begin to alter our prevalent internal language pattern, as negative as it may be, our inner self talk or dialogue that exists within us.  The end result of the consistent use of positive affirmations is the transformation of an inner negative language pattern into one that is positive in nature.

Self Discovery through Holistic Counseling.

Becoming aware of that which has been hidden most of his life, to that which has been truly determining his very being in life, allows one the opportunity to change his life. Once one gets who he has been being in life, the second component of the holistic process is for the individual to begin to create his life as a possibility. Once the understanding of the self-limiting belief is realized, the individual is now able to truly create a new possibility for himself and his life.  Getting the self-limiting belief creates the space or an opening for a possibility or even possibilities to be created not as a result or product of the internal barrier but from or out of nothing.  It is only from knowing that which has limited us that possibility can truly be created.  As with the self-limiting belief, possibility exists in language.  Once one gets the language that he has been being, that has defined and limited him through being his self-limiting belief, it is at this point that he can begin to recreate himself through the power of his word. Who we are is our word.  In is in ones language or word that one has access to changing his life, and creating possibility and change for himself.

The Work of Generating Positive Language and Words.

The work of transformation is about creating a new life, about creating a new self.  This self, as we know, exists in language.  Who we are is our thought, our beliefs and what we say, our Word.  To transform, to alter our existence has to be done on the level of our Word, what we say and put out into the world, as that is what will come back to us, what will show up as our experience.

This work that I refer to is exactly that, work.  At first the work will be merely an idea that we are contemplating, not necessarily doing.  Then we will take on doing it, saying positive words, putting them out into the world.  Shortly after we generate positive words we will probably go back to what we did in the past.  The tendency in the beginning of the transformation is to keep what we have in existence, to not give it up immediately.  It is only through constant staying with this work of generating positive language, of continuing to generate positive words, even when we go back to being negative, that the work actually starts to happen, that actually starts to show up in our life.

A Life designed around fixing it.

When we are born we are, as Louise Hay says, perfect, whole and complete. Nothing is wrong with us or the world.  As we start to move through life, living it, we create that something is not right, that something is wrong, about others, life and especially about ourself.  We create a life built, at least on the face of it, upon me not being good enough.  As Hay also states, the “innermost belief for everyone I have worked with is always, I’m not good enough.”

For that point from which we created the core of our identity, our life took on how to go about fixing it, fixing the “I’m not good enough.”  Our life will sometimes appear as a struggle, a struggle to fix ourselves.  We believe and feel that we should be better, that we need to improve our life, that we must make ourselves better.  To be enough I have to do things, lots of things sometimes, and I have to have things, as much as possible, the more the better.  The point is that for me to improve and be better I have to have something outside of myself to fix me.

My life is designed, at this point, around fixing my life.  I have lost the I am perfect, whole and complete attitude and perception about myself and life.  To get that back, I must begin with that which helped to create it in the first place, my language, my very word.  It is from my word, what I say, that I will create my life.

Positive Affirmations can transform!

I believe that who we are or who we are being is merely the words that we have in our mind.  The words or language that exists in our mind defines who we are in the world.  It also guides and determines much of our behavior, what we do in the world, with others and towards ourselves.  If we are to change our state of being, who we have been being, we need to change the words and language that exists in our mind.  One way to do this is through the constant use of positive affirmations.  Many if not all of the individuals in recovery, esp early in recovery, have very negative language or words that make up their daily existence.  Positive affirmations, more specifically, the constant and repetitious use of positive affirmations will change a person’s state of being and actually make a difference in the recovery process for that person.   It is recommended that individuals in recovery explore and start to utilize the technology of positive affirmations.

On the Edge of Language

Transformation is about altering ones state of existence or being. Part of this work is about changing your thoughts and beliefs. Part of this work is also about getting it that the language we use to communicate with others and ourselves is involved in this process too. When we communicate through langugae, words, we make distinctions where there were no distinctions before. At where we are at the moment, this experience itself can be truly transforming. However, at some point the distinctions that language makes that enables us to have breakthroughs could hinder our transformation. True Being, God if you will, or whatever word best works for you, is about unity, about no distinctions. When we start to get this, then we start to move to the edge of language, getting that our words, when spoken or written, keep the illusion of separateness alive. In moments of experiencing true unity there will be no language or words.
